Enhanced spin Hall effect of reflected light due to optical Tamm states with Dirac semimetal at the terahertz range

چکیده
In this work, the enhanced photonic spin Hall effect (PSHE) of reflected light at terahertz range is achieved by using a multilayer structure consisting Dirac semimetal, spacer layer, and distributed Bragg reflector structure. This PSHE phenomenon originates from excitation optical Tamm states (OTSs) interface between semimetal The theoretical results show that optimizing Fermi energy thickness reflection coefficient ratio s-polarization to p-polarization can be increased, thus creating conditions for PSHE. Moreover, behavior composite also proved sensitive incidence angle dispersion characteristics making configuration an effective candidate developing devices based on range.

Optical spin hall effect.
A remarkable analogy is established between the well-known spin Hall effect and the polarization dependence of Rayleigh scattering of light in microcavities. This dependence results from the strong spin effect in elastic scattering of exciton polaritons: if the initial polariton state has a zero spin and is characterized by some linear polarization, the scattered polaritons become strongly spin...
متن کاملCavity-enhanced optical Hall effect in two-dimensional free charge carrier gases detected at terahertz frequencies.
The effect of a tunable, externally coupled Fabry-Perot cavity to resonantly enhance the optical Hall effect signatures at terahertz frequencies produced by a traditional Drude-like two-dimensional electron gas is shown and discussed in this Letter. As a result, the detection of optical Hall effect signatures at conveniently obtainable magnetic fields, for example, by neodymium permanent magnet...
متن کاملTerahertz-induced acceleration of massive Dirac electrons in semimetal bismuth
Dirac-like electrons in solid state have been of great interest since they exhibit many peculiar physical behaviors analogous to relativistic mechanics. Among them, carriers in graphene and surface states of topological insulators are known to behave as massless Dirac fermions with a conical band structure in the two-dimensional momentum space, whereas electrons in semimetal bismuth (Bi) are ex...
متن کاملLarge transverse Hall-like signal in topological Dirac semimetal Cd3As2
Cadmium arsenide (Cd3As2) is known for its inverted band structure and ultra-high electron mobility. It has been theoretically predicted and also confirmed by ARPES experiments to exhibit a 3D Dirac semimetal phase containing degenerate Weyl nodes. From magneto-transport measurements in high quality single crystals of Cd3As2, a small effective mass m(*) ≈ 0.05 me is determined from the Shubniko...
متن کاملEnhanced spin Seebeck effect signal due to spin-momentum locked topological surface states.
Spin-momentum locking in protected surface states enables efficient electrical detection of magnon decay at a magnetic-insulator/topological-insulator heterojunction. Here we demonstrate this property using the spin Seebeck effect (SSE), that is, measuring the transverse thermoelectric response to a temperature gradient across a thin film of yttrium iron garnet, an insulating ferrimagnet, and f...
